Personal details are only collected if you provide them to us, such as to execute a contract, in response to a survey, or when registering for personalised services.When you register for Volkswagen personalised services, provided you give your consent your registration details will be processed for the purposes of promotion and market research and to provide needs-oriented design of electronic services. Moreover, if you give your consent the information called up by you on your visit to the Volkswagen portals will be used to construct a user profile, in order to provide you with specially tailored promotional offers. This data is transmitted in encrypted form, in order to prevent misuse by third parties. Your data is processed within the Federal Republic of Germany.

3. Use and distribution of personal data

Without your consent to other use, the personal data collected on the websites of Volkswagen AG will be used only for contract execution and handling of your enquiries. Additionally, if you have given your consent, your data will also be used for promotional and market research purposes and for the design of needs-oriented electronic services from Volkswagen AG. Any use of personal data for the delivery of tailored promotional offers will also be made only if you have given your consent.

Conditions of Use

Volkswagen AG provides the information services presented here on the basis of these general Conditions of Use of the Volkswagen AG Websites.

1. Notice in accordance with Directive 1999/94/EC regarding fuel consumption and CO2 emissions

The fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of a vehicle do not just depend on the efficient utilisation of the fuel by the vehicle, but are also influenced by driving style and other non-technical factors. CO2 is the greenhouse gas primarily responsible for global warming. The values stated were calculated according to the measuring methods specified in the currently applicable version of Directive 80/1268/EEC. The data do not relate to a specific vehicle and are not part of the specification, but are merely for the purpose of comparing different vehicle types.More information on official fuel consumption figures and the official specific CO2 emissions of new passenger vehicles can be found in the free EU guide, "Information on the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of new cars".

2. Delivery of information services and related guarantees

Volkswagen AG accepts liability for cases of intent or gross negligence, in accordance with the German Product Liability Act, and for guarantees expressly given by Volkswagen AG. In cases of minor negligence Volkswagen AG accepts liability only in the event of infringement of an essential obligation, whereby the sum of any related claims for damages is limited to the extent of the foreseeable loss.

10. Security in transmission of messages to Volkswagen AG

In view of the technical structure of the Internet, if you wish to send an e-mail from your private e-mail account to Volkswagen AG you must take your own security precautions in order to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of your e-mail's content, by using standard commercially available encryption software for example.
If you wish to send an e-mail directly from the Volkswagen AG contact zone, you should be aware that your data will be transmitted unencrypted and so no guarantee can be given as to the confidentiality and integrity of your e-mail's content.

11. Changes to the scope of performance and to the Conditions of Use
